Thanks to high scalability and flexibility, we offer decentralized, turnkey hydrogen solutions tailored to any application.

Our PEM electrolysis systems are housed in custom-built containers, enabling easy delivery, rapid commissioning, and flexible integration.
Thanks to our proven and largely standardized technology, we offer turnkey, decentralized hydrogen solutions that can be customized and expanded to meet specific project requirements.
The containerized design supports local hydrogen production, storage, and distribution with zero emissions — requiring only electrical and water connections on-site. Container sizes range from 20 to 40 feet, depending on hydrogen demand and system performance. In addition to containerized systems, we also develop customized solutions based on specific customer requirements.

PEM electrolysis produces hydrogen (H₂) by splitting water (H₂O) into hydrogen and oxygen using electrical energy. An electric current splits water at the anode (positive electrode) into oxygen (O₂), protons (H⁺), and electrons (e⁻).
The protons pass through a special plastic membrane — the Proton Exchange Membrane (PEM) — to the cathode (negative electrode), while the electrons travel through an external circuit. At the cathode, the protons and electrons recombine to form hydrogen gas (H₂).
The PEM membrane plays a critical role by allowing only protons to pass through, effectively separating hydrogen and oxygen and preventing gas mixing.
PEM electrolysis operates at relatively low temperatures (around 60–80°C) and responds quickly to fluctuations in power supply, making it particularly well-suited for integration with renewable energy sources like solar and wind.

To ensure the stack’s longevity and the most efficient reaction process possible, we use ultrapure water instead of conventional tap water. This is supplied to the system by our water treatment system. Regular tap water serves as the standard starting material. However, Kyros also offers the option of using well or rainwater to find the best possible solution for each customer’s specific application.
Different applications place different demands on the quality of the hydrogen.
Our system comes standard with a gas dryer, ensuring a quality level of 5.0 – ideal for applications such as hydrogen refueling. Other applications require a higher, lower, or no specific quality level at all. Here, too, the experienced Kyros team will work with you to find the right solution and customize the system. During gas dryers, as much water as possible is removed from the hydrogen by cooling it.
